As in many wild and scenic places, cell coverage can be spotty here in Western Wyoming, and the weather can change in a few moments. Before you head out plan for the unexpected by:

Don't go alone, there is safety in numbers.

Know Your Limits, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Tell friends and family members where you are going and when you will be back, and establish a timeline if you don't check in at the agreed-upon times.

Carry maps, matches, and other emergency essentials with you.

Consider having a backcountry GPS or downloading an SOS app to your phone.

Know when to turn around; remember – we all want you to come home safely.
